Red Dead Redemption II: Day One

Today, I started playing Red Dead Redemption II.  Normally, the only video games I play are sports games such as NBA 2K, Madden, etc. However, I have heard many positive reviews about Red Dead Redemption II, and having been interested in learning about Westward Expansion in US History, I decided to give it a try. So far, I am intrigued. The game seems to be very climactic and action-packed. In the game, I am Arthur, a member of a gang who seeks to survive the brutal winter and stave off attacks from fellow gangs and the US government. My first day of playing saw me to start to get acclimated to the game. Arthur and his gang are trying to stave off the bitter cold, and they find shelter in an old mining town. Their success didn't mean a lack of consequences, as a couple of their members passed away on the trip. Arthur and his sidekick Dutch rode out to find supplies while the rest of the gang stayed huddled inside the shack.

Arthur and Dutch ride out in freezing conditions to find supplies.
As the two search for supplies, they find friend and wildman Micah, who helps them on their quest. Micah tracks down a lodge with supplies galore a little ways away, but it is currently inhabited by unfriendly folks. As they reach the lodge, Micah asks for assistance but is greeted hastily by one of the people who lives in the house. Eventually, a gun fight breaks out, and the gang manages to get all of the people out of the house. As the gang sweeps the property, Arthur is jumped by a guy who didn't run away. Arthur manages to beat him down. Now, they are trying to get anything they can out of the lodge.

Now, Arthur and crew are taking anything, including food, lights, and even horses. They know they don't have much time, and in fact I could hear some commotion inside the house before I left off for the day. For now, this game seems like a lot of fun and I'm interested to see where the plot goes from here.

The area is clear for now as they try to take anything they can
